Piano Stories
Piano Stories is a collection of stories, and a live show, combining short fiction with classical piano pieces. Each story was written in response to a specific piece and its context.
Together, each story gains another layer when you hear the piece it is based on, while the music receives a literary “picture” created by reading the story before playing it. On stage, I read each passage or story before performing the piece that inspired it or is connected to it. I recommend reading the stories here in the same way: in order, and listening to each piece at the end of its story.
